What you get

Everything your website comes with, and how each part works

We type out your menu from the one you already print, put photographs of your own food on your pages, take table bookings on your own site, design you a logo, and get you found on Google when somebody nearby searches for dinner. It all comes in one monthly price, and you change any of it by typing a sentence into the chat box.

Getting started

Four short pages of questions, and about three minutes of your time

You answer four short pages of questions, and that takes about three minutes. Three answers are enough to start. We need your name, the kind of food you do, and what makes your place worth the trip. Your homepage is then built while you wait, and on a paid plan one press builds the rest of the site to match it, so the whole thing takes under ten minutes. Everything else you tell us makes the rest of the site better.

  • The basics. Who you are, what you cook, where you are, and what makes your place worth the trip. You can add up to twenty places.
  • What your site is for. More bookings, more online orders, more people through the door, or catering enquiries. We build towards the one you pick. This page also asks whether you do takeaway, who through, and whether you take tables.
  • Your look and your menu. Your photos, your colours and your logo, then the menu you already print. Upload it, paste it, or just describe it.
  • Reviews and social. Google, Tripadvisor, Instagram, Facebook, so your reviews are right there on your page.

Skip a question and come back to it later

Every answer can be changed whenever you like, and you can skip any of them and come back later. The ones you skip wait for you, and your site still gets built.

Type your opening hours once

Set them on a simple weekly grid, including days where you do lunch and dinner as two separate times. They then show on your site, they go into the details Google reads, and they set your first booking times.

Building the site

Your homepage is built first, and the rest is matched to it

You look at one page before anything else is built. When you press Looks great, build the rest, the other pages are written to match it, in the same style and the same voice.

  • Your homepage is written while you wait, usually in a minute or two. It is the only page built at first, so you have one page to look at and approve.
  • When it is right, one button writes the rest of the site in one go. From your first answer to a finished website is under ten minutes.
  • Menu, About and Contact come as standard. Add any page you like by typing its name: “Wine List”, “Christmas”, “Private dining”.
  • Every page is written from your own answers, your own menu and your own pictures, so it reads like your restaurant.
  • The pages past the homepage come with a paid plan, and each page you build counts as one of that month's pages. Solo gives you 12 pages a month, Pro gives you 40 a month shared across all five, and Max gives you 70 shared across all ten. The free plan builds your homepage, and you get three goes a month.

Changing it later

Change your website by typing a message

Once your homepage is built, you change your site by typing a sentence into the chat box, the way you would send a message. You can point at one part of the page first, and then only that part changes. Every change has an Undo, and every earlier version is kept.

Type the change into the chat box

Write it the way you'd say it. “Put the Sunday roast on the front page.” “Take the second photo off.” “We're shut on the 24th.”

Point at one part of the page

Press the button, then click the part of the page you mean. It's named in your words, like “the big picture at the top”, and only that part changes. The rest of the page stays exactly as it is.

Update your menu from a photo of the new one

Photograph the new menu or send us the new PDF. The dishes and prices are typed out into a box for you to check, so you see every price before anything is saved. One press then updates every page that was showing the old menu, without building those pages again. Reading the file counts as one change, and saving counts as one more.

Ask for the same page laid out a different way

You get the same words and the same photographs, laid out a different way. It's there for when you know a part isn't working but not what to change.

Every change can be undone

A small Undo appears after every change and puts the page back exactly as it was. Every earlier version is kept as well, so you can go back further whenever you want.

Plain steps, from your first answers to being found on Google

The builder gives you a short list of plain steps, from “tell us about your place” to “increase search visibility”. The one you are on opens up with a line saying what to do and a button that does it. Fold the list away and come back to it whenever you like.

Table bookings

Take table bookings on your own site

Guests book on your own site, at your own address. Every booking is yours, and you can take as many a month as your tables allow. A Book a table button sits in the corner of every page, so a guest reading your menu can book from the page they are already on. Tonight's sheet is on your phone at the door, and it tells you who has eaten with you before. Bookings come with every paid plan.

  • You set your service times, how many people you can seat at once and how long you give a table. That is the whole of the setup.
  • Accept bookings automatically, or hold every one until you have said yes.
  • We count your free seats at the moment each booking is made, so the table a guest books is theirs. Guests can change or cancel through a link of their own.
  • Already on Setmore or SimplyBook.me? Connect either one instead and we'll put their booking page on your site.

Takeaway and delivery

Order buttons for Deliveroo, Uber Eats and the rest

Paste the pages guests already use and your site gets a proper button for each one, on your home page and on your ordering page. The order is taken where it already is, so your morning stays the same.

  • We recognise the big ones by name, so the button carries the platform's name, like “Order on Deliveroo”.
  • Up to six buttons, and you pick which is the main one.
  • Any ordering page you paste in becomes a button. One we don't know by name gets a plain label and works just the same.
  • We check each link works as an order button. It has to be your own page on the ordering platform, rather than a social page, a PDF or the platform's own front door. If you send one of those, we tell you which it is and what to send instead.

Lieferando, Thuisbezorgd and Seamless work too. They belong to the companies above, so the button says Just Eat or Grubhub.

The check, in your words

Your page has a proper title
It has a summary for search results
It looks right when shared in WhatsApp
Your dishes and hours are readable by Google

Every finding is a suggestion. You tick the ones you want, press to apply them, and you can undo any of it afterwards.

Getting found

Your restaurant gets found on Google, and by people asking an AI where to eat

More and more people ask an assistant “where can I eat near the harbour tonight” instead of searching. Google and the assistants both need your details written in a form they can read. We check that for you before you go live, and again whenever your details change.

  • Page titles and search summaries, written for you when they're missing or too long.
  • The picture and text that appear when someone shares your site in a message.
  • Descriptions on your photographs, so people using a screen reader, and Google, know what they show.
  • The hidden list of your details: kind of food, address, phone, opening hours, logo, a link to your menu and your booking page, and your actual dishes on the menu page.
  • Every time you publish, we write the two files search engines look for, so they can find every page of your site.
  • Where something is a judgement call, we tell you what we would do and leave the decision to you.

The check is offered before you publish, and you decide what to do with it. You can go straight to publishing.

Going online

One press puts your site online, at a web address that comes with your plan

Press Publish and your pages go up. The hosting, the padlock and the address are all part of your plan and we keep them up for you. Two things can hold a publish up and both say so on screen: a site with no pages built yet, and a page with a photo spot still empty.

An address to start on, set up in one press

On a paid plan your site goes online straight away at an address we give you, set up in one press with the padlock. Send it to a friend and ask what they think. It keeps working after you connect an address of your own.

The padlock is set up for you

The certificate that puts the padlock in the address bar is set up for you, free, on your address and ours. It comes with your plan, and we renew it for you.

Your pages open quickly anywhere in the world

Your pages are kept ready on a network with copies all over the world, so your site opens quickly wherever your guest is sitting. We look after everything behind it for you.

Connect the web address you already own

Type it in and we tell you exactly which box to fill in at the company you bought it from, in that company's own words, with a link straight to the right page. The big providers are covered by name, including GoDaddy, Namecheap, IONOS, one.com and more.

Your email is checked before anything moves. Some ways of connecting an address also move where your email is delivered. We read what your address is doing now, put anything to do with email at the top of the list, and show it to you first. You say go ahead, and only then does anything change.

Buy a web address of your own

We suggest addresses built from your name, your food and your town, check which ones are still available, and hand you over to a registrar to buy it. You pay them directly. It's registered in your name, and you can take it anywhere.

.com.co.uk .uk.nl .restaurant.cafe .co

Your card details stay with the registrar, and the address is registered to you, so it stays yours. Come back when you've bought it and connect it the same way as any other.

Answer three questions and see your own homepage

You answer three questions and we build your homepage, with real photographs of your kind of food on it. The free plan stays free for as long as you want it.
