For your guests

How a guest books a table on your site

People decide to book while they're looking at your food. So the booking button is right there on every page of your site, and the form takes less than a minute.

  • A “Book a table” button sits on every page. It floats in the corner of your site, so a guest can book the moment they decide, from whichever page they're reading.
  • The form is one screen, in your own colours. Your guest picks the party size, the date and the time, and the form is painted to match the rest of your site.
  • Your guest always gets a clear answer. On a day you're closed, the form says you're closed. On a night you're fully booked, it asks them to pick another day.
  • You get a name and a way to reach them. There's a notes box too, for an allergy, a high chair or a birthday, so you know before they arrive.
  • The table is confirmed on the spot when you accept bookings automatically. When you would rather approve each one, the table is held for your yes. Either way, the screen tells your guest which it is, and they get a link of their own to change or cancel the booking. Your sheet updates as soon as they do.
  • The booking is on your sheet straight away. It appears the moment your guest presses the button, wherever you are.

For you, during service

Tonight's bookings on one screen, on your phone

The booking sheet is made for busy moments at the door. The first screen tells you who's coming, when they arrive, and anything special about their booking.

The booking sheet, as it looks on a phone at the door.

  • See tonight at a glance. How many guests are coming, which bookings still need your answer, who arrives next, and your busiest time.
  • The whole week is one tap away, so you can check Saturday while a guest is still on the phone.
  • Every guest's phone number is a button. Tap it and it dials.
  • Mark a booking Confirmed, Seated, Finished, Missed or Cancelled in two quick taps. You confirm the change on the second tap, so the sheet shows exactly what you chose.
  • Marking a table Finished frees its seats straight away, so you can seat a late walk-in.
  • “Been here 5 times” appears next to a regular's name, worked out from your own bookings, so whoever is at the door knows to welcome them back.

Setting it up

Set your service times, your seats and your closed days

It takes a few minutes, and you only do it once. You say when you serve, how many people you can seat at once, whether bookings are accepted automatically or held for your yes, and which days you're closed. Then one press puts your website online at a web address we give you, with the padlock set up for you, and your booking page goes live with it.

Set the times you serve

Set each day of the week to lunch and dinner, to one long service, or to closed. Your opening hours are already filled in as a starting point, and one button copies a day across the whole week.

Set how many you can seat

How many people you can seat at once, how long a table gets, and the biggest group you'll take online.

Accept automatically, or approve each one

Accept every booking automatically, or approve each one yourself. Add a short note guests read before they finish, for anything you'd normally explain on the phone.

Mark the days you're shut

Take Christmas Day or your summer break off, and guests can see at once that you're closed. Your normal week carries on before and after, exactly as you set it.

Your booking page is part of your own site, at the address we give you, and at your own web address once you connect one.

Your regulars

Know who's eaten with you before

Every booking you take goes on your list of regulars. We put bookings that share an email address or a phone number together as one guest. So when somebody who ate with you in March books again in October, you see their history next to their name.

We put two bookings together when the details clearly point to the same person, so you can trust what you read at the door.

  • See how many guests you've had, how many come back, and who's booked in next.
  • Search by name, email or phone number. A phone number finds the guest however it's typed.
  • See each guest's history in one place. Their usual party size, when they first ate with you, and every booking they've made.
  • At the door, the sheet shows how often a guest has been in, so you know who's a regular before they sit down.
  • Your guest list sits behind your login, where only someone signed in to your account can see it.

Details we look after

Seat counts, opening hours and your guests' details

We take care of six things behind the booking sheet, so what you read at the door is right on the busiest night of the year.

Seats counted at the moment of booking

We count your free seats as each booking is made, so the table a guest books is theirs, even on the busiest Saturday of the year.

Your times stay the same when the clocks change

When the clocks go forward in spring and back in autumn, your service times stay exactly where you set them and your booking page carries on offering the same times.

Bookings after midnight count on that night

A table booked for half past midnight still counts as Friday night's service. Every booking lands on the night it belongs to, however late you serve.

Guest details stay behind your login

Names, emails and phone numbers sit behind your login, where only someone signed in to your account can see them. Your public website carries your menu, your photos and your story.

Your booking history is kept

Every booking you take is kept for as long as your website exists, whatever you change in your settings later.

We look after your bookings with the rest of your site

Bookings are part of your website, so we look after them along with the rest of it. It all happens in your browser, and we keep everything behind it running.

Questions

What people ask about taking bookings

You pay one monthly price for your website, and bookings come with it, whether you take four a month or four hundred. Every table you fill is entirely yours.

On your own website, at the web address we give you, or your own once you connect one, on a page that matches the rest of your site. Your guest picks a time, gives a name and a way to reach them, and they're done. The booking is between you and your guest, start to finish.

Of course. Most restaurants do both. Online bookings arrive already written down, in the right order, with the guest's contact details attached, ready whenever you look.

Yes. Turn approval on and each booking is held until you accept it. The sheet shows how many are waiting the moment you open it. A booking lands there as waiting for your yes as soon as your guest sends it, and your guest is told on the screen that it is not confirmed yet. If you want to say so earlier, put a line about it in the note guests read before they finish.
